Carved from an approximately 900 year old Alligator Juniper tree, this piece has dramatic waves, folds and uplifted waves carved out of the piece. The feet carved into the bottom make this piece look as if it’s walking. With some slight burl in the wood, the piece is just gorgeous. This reclaimed wood requires special permits and has to be a dead tree to remove. Only growing in the four corners area and above elevations of 6800 these trees are very prized and grow quite old. Carefully using the chainsaw to start the creation of this piece requires skill and vision. Grinders finish up the design and smooth it out before hours of sanding and applying hand rubbed oil finish it up. 30×30
