This large Canyon shaped vessel is carved from an approximately 1000 year old Alligator Juniper tree. This reclaimed wood requires special permits and must be dead before removing. These prized trees only grow in the four corners area above 6800 elevation and can be quite old. This piece came from a larger section of a trunk. All the natural outside elements along with voids and cracks were left in tact. Walnut Bow Ties (thus the French name given) were inlaid over several cracks. The chainsaw carefully roughed out the inside, bringing the sides down to reveal the beautiful inside. Then grinders finished up the design. 3ft x 2ft
